OU Health Stephenson Cancer Center (SCC) is fully committed to the National Cancer Institute’s vision that NCI-Designated cancer centers should serve as major sources of 1) discovery into the nature of cancer and 2) of the development of more effective approaches to cancer prevention, diagnosis and therapy. Research at the SCC is organized into three research programs to promote these twin goals of DISCOVERING new ideas and DEVELOPING them into more effective approaches to cancer. Each research program consists of a group of investigators who share common scientific interests and who participate in peer-review funded and other research. Programs are transdisciplinary and highly interactive, which promotes the exchange of information, experimental techniques, and novel ideas, thereby enhancing individual productivity of scientists and resulting in collaborations, joint publications and grants.
The SCC’s current research programs are:
