If you are interested in a career in healthcare and/or giving back to the community, the experience of volunteering at a hospital is invaluable. Our SPEAK program was designed to give high school students, ages 16 and 17, the opportunity to volunteer with us interacting with patients, learning about the career opportunities healthcare has to offer and give back to the community. Each year, we open up limited number of volunteer opportunities for local students.
The SPEAK application and details can be found below. The program runs annually during the months of June and July (typically the first Monday of June through the last full week in July). Students must commit to the entire timeframe. Applications typically open toward the end of February.
Duties may include patient care or administrative opportunities.

“Volunteering for Oklahoma Children’s Hospital SPEAK program was truly an exceptional experience! This program submerged me in many circumstances where I practiced team-work, professionalism, social skills and most importantly kindness. This program really taught me how powerful a kind gesture can be when it comes to helping others.” – Andrew, SPEAK Volunteer
