About Narendra Reddy Battula
Narendra R. Battula, MBBS, MRCS, MD, FRCS, is an assistant professor in the department of surgery, division of Transplant Surgery at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine He received his medical degree from Manipal Medical University in India and a doctorate in medical research from King's College London, where he studied disseminated tumor cells in hepatocellular carcinoma. Dr. Battula completed an internship at Kasturba Medical College Hospitals in India, as well as a general surgery residency in the United Kingdom. He also completed fellowships in hepato-pancreatic-biliary surgery and adult/pediatric liver transplantation at University Hospitals Birmingham, UK, followed by a second fellowship in multiorgan abdominal transplantation at Ochsner Health System in New Orleans. Dr. Battula holds a multi-organ transplant (liver, kidney and pancreas) training certificate from the American Society for Transplant Surgery and is certified through the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and the Royal College of Surgeons in England. He is also certified to use the da Vinci© Robotic Surgical System. His clinical interests are living donor and pediatric liver transplant surgery, and his research interests center around organ preservation and reconditioning using normothermic liver allograft machine perfusion.
