Proposal Services
The Proposal Services Core is a service that is available to all Stephenson Cancer Center members to provide support with cancer-related grant proposal submissions, scientific writing and editing, as well as project management support for complex grant submissions..
We request, when possible, that interested users contact the core 45 days prior to their deadline for full level of support and 20 days prior to their deadline for partial support. This advance notice is not mandatory but will help us facilitate efficient service. Any requests after these times will be honored to the extent workload levels permit.
Proposal Submission Services
- Locating application packages and forms
- Ensuring adherence to and interpreting of proposal guidelines
- Constructing proposal budgets and budget justifications
- Formatting proposal documents
- Coordinating with internal and external collaborators
- Obtaining institutional letters of support
- Completing and obtaining signatures on institutional routing forms
- Coordination of review and submission with institutional grant offices
- Submission of proposals (when access can be granted to Proposal Services staff)
Project Management
Assists research teams with the submission of complex grant applications such as multiple PI and program project grants. The proposal services coordinator can assist in the planning, procurement and execution of grant projects. Services include, but are not limited to:
- Developing and maintaining project timelines
- Developing and updating project objectives and tasks
- Assist with arranging meetings, developing meeting agendas and meeting minutes
- Identifying stakeholders
- Drafting Letters of Support and Letters of Recommendation
- Review of non-scientific documents, such as the Biosketch
- Proposal assembly for submission to funding agencies
Scientific Writing and Editing
Comprehensive writing and editing assistance to all cancer center members as they prepare manuscripts and grant applications for submission. This assistance may encompass help with the structure and flow of the writing in order to build a compelling narrative, or may be as simple as proofreading and copyediting.
