Education, Training and Career Enhancement Core
Under the direction of the Associate Director for Education and Training,
the Core oversees education and mentoring activities by coordinating:
- Cancer-focused education, training and career enhancement programs

Research Seminar Series – Featuring local, regional and national speakers who address a
broad range of cancer-related topics

Research conferences and events – Fostering an environment of scientific inquiry by organizing and
hosting cancer research-related activities
- Student participant and outcomes tracking
- Administrative support for National Institutes of Health (NIH) and other
grant-funded training and mentorship programs
- Project management and grant writing support for principal investigators
(PIs) who submit individual career development and institutional training grants
- Ongoing evaluation of Stephenson Cancer Center education, training and
mentorship activities
