About Suhair Maqusi
Suhair Maqusi, MD, is a plastic surgeon with OU Health Physicians, and she is an associate professor in the department of surgery with the OU College of Medicine. As a triple-board certified physician, Dr. Maqusi brings an incredible expertise in general surgery and plastic surgery with an added qualification in hand surgery and microsurgery.
Some of her clinical interests and areas of expertise include breast reconstruction after cancer removal, body contouring after weight loss surgery, "mommy makeovers," breast surgery (breast augmentation, breast lift, breast reduction), abdominoplasty, liposuction, facial aesthetic surgery (rhinoplasty, eyelid surgery, facelift, brow lift, ear pinning), non-surgical facial rejuvenation, vaginal rejuvenation, hand surgery (nerve decompressions, nerve injury, tendon injury, bone fractures, congenital hand deformity, etc.), chest wall reconstruction after cancer removal and abdominal wall reconstruction, and excision of cutaneous malignancies and reconstruction after Mohs surgery.
Dr. Maqusi earned her medical degree from Texas Tech University Medical School in Lubbock, TX and completed a residency in general surgery at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, MI. She completed a fellowship in plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of Illinois in Chicago, IL and a fellowship in hand and microsurgery at the world-renowned Kleinert Kutz Hand Care Center in Louisville, KY.
She is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Maqusi is an active member of multiple surgical organizations, including the American Society of Plastic Surgery, American Council of Academic Plastic Surgeons, the American Society for Surgery of the Hand and has served on multiple committees in these societies.
Her academic roles include chief for the division of plastic surgery and program director for the plastic surgery residency program at the OU College of Medicine. In addition to resident teaching and training, she is actively involved in clinical research.
