About Jason Lees

While there are many opportunities to treat patients at OU, Dr. Lees enjoys being able to provide care to patients when they present with acute, life-threatening conditions including trauma and emergent surgical conditions. These patients often require ongoing intensive care in the hospital. Patients at high risk require a team-based approach involving multiple specialties and disciplines, so he values being able to work numerous other providers to care for patients in the inpatient setting.

Few days prior to my discharge, I complained to doctors that I am having shortness of breath( all the time) and chills. I continued to have shortness of breath and chills or fever at home. I even call the nursing staff from home. On my two week's follow up last Tuesday I complained to nurses and doctors. Finally Dr Wilkerson(I think he is a wonderful surgeon.) told me I may have Pneumonia. Same day I at the advice of my primary care doctor I did X-ray and blood tests and after the result came in next day I was told I have Pneumonia on my right lung and a small effusion between my lung and chest. I am on antibiotics now. I feel like my complaints at the hospital were not listened enough to do a chest X-ray and get treated before discharged.

At one point after some tests were run, I spent almost an hour and a half in the trauma room without anyone checking on me. They didn't explain why I was waiting so long. I didn't have a buzzer to call a nurse. It was scary and nerve wracking waiting so long to find out what was going on with my leg.
