Before joining the neurosurgery department at OU Health he served as the Director of Endovascular Neurosciences at SSM Health St. Anthony Hospital. Dr. Shakir has authored over 40 peer reviewed journal publications and book chapters ranging from complex stroke care to physician burnout and resilience.
