The only thing I feel we had an issue with really was the fact that the NICU on floor 7 just did not accommodate me (a post par mother). Being discharged from Baptist and going to Visit my son in the NICU 24hours after delivering was already a traumatic thing to go through. But on top of that the NICU did me no favors while trying to visit him. I couldn't sit in the chair due to stitches and such. So I was unable to really hold him for a few days. I definitely couldn't stay overnight like I had hoped. I was also very very swollen from the waist down and had trouble walking. This made visiting the NICU harder. I had to walk all the way out to the lobby every 30 minutes or so while visiting him just to go to the restroom. For the first 4 days I had to do this so I could change out my pads and such. This made my swelling worse. At one point I almost passed out while holding my son because of other issues due to being diabetic and anemic… everyone was wonderful… the medical team saved my sons life and for that I am grateful. But it would be really nice if maybe there was a private break space with a bathroom where post Par moms can change when they need too without having to walk so far.. Or maybe a place they can go for a few minutes to nibble on a snack should their blood sugar drop.. etc. This was a very very big struggle for me and something that made me very depressed for the first week. Not to mention the bathroom in the lobby that I had to go and use… from the 22nd of May to the 25th there was no toilet paper or paper towels available. I had to wind up bringing my own essentials to use. I hope that this changes. Otherwise OU WAS GREAT!

Yes, I liked how I was treated. All of the doctors and nurses are very respectful and very kind.
