Our annual trauma symposium is a one-day conference that will incorporate topics across the continuum of trauma care. Presenters from across the region will talk about disasters, trauma systems, perform case studies, and provide hands-on learning targeting specific groups of trauma care providers. This is our opportunity to share knowledge with other professionals, build rapport, support professional relationships, and welcome attendees to our facility. CME will be offered.

Learning Objectives: This activity is designed for all health care providers involved in treating trauma patients. Upon completion of this activity, learners will be able to: 

  1. Understand the importance of disaster preparedness and takes steps to insure their facility is ready to respond in the event of a mass casualty incident. 
  2. Describe the role of local, state, and national trauma systems. 
  3. Discuss best practices in trauma resuscitation. 
  4. Identify the differing needs of burn patients from initial resuscitation to wound care and rehabilitation. 
  5. Apply principals of trauma informed care.
