Next Generation Workforce

OU Health is leading the effort to support the next generation workforce by offering innovative, structured learning opportunities within Oklahoma’s only academic health system.

The OU Health Office of Workforce Development establishes strong student-to-career pipelines through the creation of transformative learning experiences for early careerists. This strategic approach features three tiers:

1. Introduce students to careers in the healthcare industry and ignite a curiosity to explore both traditional and non-traditional pathways that address critical workforce gaps.
2. Educate students through immersive learning opportunities in a variety of clinical and non-clinical pathways.
3. Employ students to take part in our established connection points, including: Part-time entry-point positions, internships, externships, and post-graduate fellowships.

OU Health’s commitment to supporting the next generation workforce is built primarily through strong working relationships with our community partners and educational institutions including high schools, colleges, and nursing.
