Dr. Cameron Mantor, M.D., MHA, has been named Chief Physician Executive for OU Health, the state’s flagship academic health system, and President of OU Health Partners, the physician practice for OU Health.
In his role, Dr. Mantor will be a member of the executive team for OU Health, reporting to President and CEO Dr. Richard Lofgren, M.D., MPH. He will spearhead the continued growth and success of OU Health Partners, the state’s largest and most comprehensive physician practice, leading strategic clinical initiatives, fostering collaboration between clinical and administrative teams, and setting the standard for provider success.
“Dr. Mantor’s leadership on campus has been transformational, impacting the lives of patients, families, students and colleagues,” said Dr. Lofgren. “His experience and relationships with other physicians give him unique perspective to lead the state’s largest physician practice successfully.”
Dr. Mantor has been serving in these roles on an interim basis since January 2024 and has already made an impact, improving processes, championing physician engagement and leading our OU Health providers.
Dr. Mantor joined OU Health in 1995, most recently serving as the associate Chief Physician Executive for Physician Practice for OU Health Partners. He has performed a variety of physician leadership roles in his nearly 30 years on campus, including as Chief Medical Officer for the hospitals, as Vice Chair of the Department of Surgery at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine and as a professor in the Division of Pediatric Surgery at OU College of Medicine.
Dr. Mantor earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. He completed his general surgery residency training at the OU College of Medicine and followed this with subspecialty training in surgical critical care and pediatric surgery. Dr. Mantor also holds a master's degree in healthcare administration and policy from the OU Hudson College of Public Health.
He will continue to serve as the Vice Chair of the Department of Surgery in the OU College of Medicine and a professor in the Division of Pediatric Surgery as well.
“I was drawn to Oklahoma City by the pediatric surgery training program at Oklahoma Children’s Hospital OU Health,” Dr. Mantor said. “Following my training, the people I worked with, colleagues both medical and surgical, have made this the place I wanted to spend my career. Leading our physician group at this stage of my career is a tremendous honor. I look forward to how our physician group can further advance OU Health as the flagship academic referral center for Oklahoma.”
