Siemens Healthineers Partnership Brings Advanced Ultrasound Technology to OU College of Allied Health

The University of Oklahoma College of Allied Health has opened its new Interprofessional Sonography Laboratory, thanks to a partnership with Siemens Healthineers and funding from the Presbyterian Health Foundation. This state-of-the-art lab features advanced ultrasound technology that will enhance the education of students from various health disciplines. The lab includes seven ultrasound stations that provide detailed images of the body's organs and tissues, helping students gain hands-on experience with advanced technology. This initiative is part of a broader effort to improve clinical care, promote workforce development, and advance education and research in Oklahoma.

Jane Wilson, Ph.D., RDH, Dean of the OU College of Allied Health, emphasized that this innovative space will not only boost student education but also attract top talent to address critical healthcare needs in the region. The sonography program is unique, preparing students for multiple credentialing areas and ensuring they are highly marketable in the healthcare field. Anthony Alleman, M.D., MPH, radiologist at OU Health and chair of the Department of Radiological Sciences in the OU College of Medicine correlates with the equipment being a key piece in research and recruitment of the next generation of healthcare professionals.
