OU College of Dentistry Names New Director of Faculty Practice

OKLAHOMA CITY— With 25 years of experience in dental practice management, Caryl Parsons has joined the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry as director of the faculty practice.
Parsons comes to the College of Dentistry from Woodward, where she was owner, operator and director of marketing and management of a small business. In her new role as director, she will plan, develop, implement and manage business operations and practice initiatives of the OU College of Dentistry, with clinical and administrative oversight responsibilities.
Parsons’ extensive background in the field of dentistry began in Tulsa, in her role as an assistant with a pediatric dentistry practice. There, she received training in the principles of systems development, patient retention, treatment plan acceptance and increased production.
Subsequently, she accepted a management position at a multi-facility, multi-doctor practice in Oklahoma City, where she was active in all aspects of practice, including hiring, training and retention, and facilitation of all clinical operations.
Parsons attended the University of Oklahoma, where she studied marketing and management. She has served on boards of multiple organizations, including Leadership Oklahoma, Northwest Domestic Crisis Services, Woodward Education Foundation, Northwest Oklahoma Red Cross, Woodward Chamber of Commerce and the Woodward Tourism and Visitors Bureau. She also served as the Oklahoma Mission of Mercy hospitality lead in 2017.
